A friend sent this to me and it made me giggle.  How true...

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . That will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another

Wow - i made it!  It's the weekend and I am not doing work work but home work.  All good.

it's been an interesting week.  I was not feeling well on Monday and left early to come home and go straight to bed at 2:15 in the afternoon.  I tried to leave work, grab dinner and hit the bed before 10 every night this week except Thursday when I had dinner with some old work friends that have moved on to other ventures.  It was really great to see them as they are all in way better places personally and professionally.  Ivan the Terrible is getting married in March, Salad Cracker has a lovely wife and his kids are getting big.  Maximillion is still with Sam and they are truly happy.  It's just great because these are some really smart and truly nice folks.

I'm going to have my girlfriend embroider towels for Ivan and his bride to be for their trip to Aruba.  I hope that they like the gift.

On the fire for today:
Send emails for Husbandy business (hardwood refinishing is NOT going well right now)
Clean the kitchen
Get tax papers together - i've got to get us filed!
Shower and head out to FNFLFB birthday shin dig at Kimmers

The weather man is saying that it may snow/rain/snow mix this evening so I don't plan to be out very late.

In other news - Nan's baby Nik is out of remission and has now been entered into a clinical trial.  I am praying for Nik that no matter what happens - she will not suffer.  She's a sweet baby dog and I have known her since she was about a year old.  She's going to be 9 in April.  That's longer than I've known Husbandy.  She's very special to me and I love her mom so much that I hurt when she hurts.  We are all hoping that this new treatment will get Nik to her birthday in April so she can have one last pool party.

Well - the kitchen calls.

Nice weekend!  Had lunch with my brother, mom and some friends.  It was really, really nice and surely made my day.  Yesterday Paulie and I worked on the cat room floor and did some cleaning.  We also took a little chill time to relax and regroup.  It was a nice weekend and I'm looking forward to the next one :-)

Why is it that we yawn when we are not truly tired?  I seem to remember reading somewhere sometime that yawning has to do with obtaining additional oxygen.  Hm.

It's Thursday folks!  Woo-Hoo!  I am actually taking this entire weekend off from work - ok, rephrase, I will not be working on WORK stuff this weekend.  Just preparing for taxes and cleaning house.  Fun huh?  Don't be hating.

Back to it!  Seez ya!

I have been really draggin ass this week!  WHAT is my problem???  I can't seem to get out of be any earlier than 1 hour after my alarm goes off and it's not like I'm staying up.  I have been really good about getting in bed by 10:30.  Geeze!

Had a nice weekend.  Friday night was Ghost Whisperer and the NEW BSG!!!!  It was really, really, really good.  I am just trying to hold on for the next new episode this Friday.  Isn't that sad?  I haven't been into a show this much since BTVS or Angel.

We had a lovely soup party at Waterdogs and everyone from dock showed up.  We had (in the order they were on the counter from my memory):
Thai Coconut Chicken Noodle (that was me!)
Broccoli
Navy Bean and Ham
Stuffed Bell Pepper
Beer Cheese
Potato w Cheese
Chicken and Dumpling
Tortilla Soup
Potato Soup sans Cheese
Italian Wedding Soup (that was O and it was YUM!!!)
Spicy Gumbo
Chicken Vegetable

The Tortilla soup won with the Chicken and Dumpling in second place.  It was all wonderful in my opinion and very well laid out.  Kudos to the dock folk and the Waterdog neighbors!

We also played this game where Waterdog mom wrapped a present 3-4 times using packing tape and duct tape and then you had to put on snow gloves.  The game starts with the present in the center of the circle and a bowl with two dice.  You pass around the bowl until someone rolls doubles of anything and then they have to run, put on the snow gloves and attempt to open the gift without biting it.  As the person is attempting the unwrap, the bowl is still being passed around with attempts to roll doubles.  The next person takes the snow gloves and gives it their best try.  It is hilarious and I would imagine would be fun for a birthday or Christmas party as well.

We also played this game where we each got a strand of beads and throughout the evening could not say WHAT, WHEN or WHERE.  You would not believe how hard this is when conversing with friends.  If you said any of those words, the person who heard you would take your beads.  The person with the most beads wins a small door prize and in this case it was a bag of Waterdog mom home-made bread mix.  It was fun!

Anywho - off to work!

Whew.  Friday.  WooT! Woo-Hoo! Woo-hook!

Tonight starts the new BSG - the final episodes.  I am so psyched because I've been having fun watching it over the last howevermany years.  Who IS the final Cylon?  What will they do not that they have reached Earth and it's a frakin wasteland???  Oh My!  If anyone is interested in catching up, go to www.scifi.com and check out the 13 minute clip called "Catch The Frak Up"  It is informative and hysterical at the same time.

On the docket for the weekend:
Estimate and lunch tomorrow with Husbandy
Soup Party with the dock folks
slug day = Sunday

I have the sweetest Lou in the world.  He was snuggled down in a blanket on the couch this morning and gave me a stretch and yawn when I greeted him.  Kitties are HUGE as ever and Pooh seems to have an obsession with the cat grass that his Grandpa gave for Christmas.

2009.  Wow again. You know how some years it takes you the entire month of January to get the stupid date right?  For some reason I have had no issues EXCEPT on 1/8/09.  I kept trying to key 1/9/08 on EVERYTHING.  It was so bad that I sent out this email about how I could not post a payment and asking the ENTIRE accounting department is someone had closed the period for some reason.  Needless to say I received no less than 5 emails telling me what a ding dong I am and that the posting would work if I simply used the correct date - you know the one in THIS year.  I laughed at myself pretty good for that one.

I am feeling so much better than I did Monday afternoon/all day Tuesday.  I think that the day of rest and rest and more rest was what I needed.  I'm actually starting to get my arms around all of the projects that are on my desk.  I just keep wondering when the shoe will drop.  Next week?  I guess I'm just not supposed to let it bother me.  If I choose to be free of worry, I shall choose to be free of (some) stress.

I have the bestest dog ever.  He is so sweet that Husbandy is jealous.  Last night he got on the couch with me and literally laid in my lap.  He's a 65 pound Lab.  Yes, he has lost weight since the last visit to the vet because we are watching his diet and exercise.  He's a 65 pound Lad lap dog.  Awwwww.  Oh and to top off the cuteness, whie he was on the couch, both kitties were chillin on his dog bed happy as clams.

Off to work!

I ganked this quizzie from O's blog

Your Word is "Think"
You see life as an amazing mix of possibilities, ideas, and fascinations.
And sometimes you feel like you don't have enough time to take it all in.

You love learning. Whether you're in school or not, you're probably immersed in several subjects right now.
When you're not learning, you're busy reflecting. You think a lot about the people you know and the things you've experienced.

Morning all!

Lots going on in my world these days.  Folks I care deeply for are hurting.  The economy sucks and my Husbandy has been out of work for six weeks.  I'm supposed to be going to Bermuda with my brother for a once in a lifetime trip in three weeks and mom is having knee replacement surgery next Monday.  Good news is that we finally got my car running again - after $1200 of unexpected bills - bad news is that they disconnected my antenna so I no longer have radio without MAJOR static.  So, here's to hoping that my car runs for one year solid with no new expenses.

We took Lou to the vet Saturday because he was bitten in the ear and it just was not healing.  They shaved it, used tissue glue and gave us a round of antibiotics.  He seems to be doing much better.

My lovely brother gave me a gift card to Home Depot for my birthday and I finally figured out what I wanted.  Husbandy and I found a nice, cheap pattern of vinyl for the kitty room and we were able to purchase the sheet, adhesive and trowel for just a smidge out of pocket.  The plan is to put that down this weekend.  The cat room is going to look so much better.  Whew - I have been wanting this for 3 years now.

Anywho, I hope everyone has a great day and please let me know what you think about this Bermuda thing.  Should I be "responsible" and stay home or am I allowed ot throw caution to the wind and go to have the bestest time ever with my brother?
